Atrial Fibrillation
It was 7 years ago. I was playing senior softball and I had the best night of hitting - EVER!
I had just hit an inside the park homerun. I was in very good shape, but I was a bit winded and remember not being able to catch my breath.
My heart kept pounding long after it should have calmed down. I went home that night and told my wife my heart was pounding hard and wouldn’t slow down. She asked if i wanted to go to the hospital. I said no, I felt ok. It was 10:30pm and I just went to sleep.
When I woke up the next day with the same pounding I decided to go to the doctor.
He said I had Atrial Fibrillation.
He immediately wrote me a Rx for Coumadin, a blood thinner. The doctor said I should stay on blood thinners for the rest of my life, or I would be a risk of a stroke. He said they don’t know why it happens and they don’t know how to fix it .
The drug seemed to work and my heart went back to a normal beat.
When I got home I started doing some research on Coumadin and found the following sides effects!

I said, no thank-you, no way.
Over the next 5 years, about every 6-months I would have a bout with A-fib. It would usually last no longer than an hour.

This doctor gave me a natural RX for A-Fib which I took religiously for a year.
In that year I never had another bout of Atrial Fibrillation.
Its now been two years and in that time, I had 1 brief episode of A-fib but in two years, that was all.
Over the next 5 years, about every 6-months I would have a bout with A-fib. It would usually last no longer than an hour.
